Senior Baseball (12-14)

The Senior Baseball division is an advanced level division for players, ages 13-16. Senior Baseball players are often playing middle school or high school baseball alongside Senior Baseball. Girls desiring to play baseball instead of softball are permitted to do so.

The Senior Baseball program is the next step after Junior Baseball, and the final division of Little League play where players will learn some of the more advanced skills of the game.

Inexperienced Little Leaguers should consider playing one season of Junior Baseball before advancing to Senior Baseball. Players at this level will participate in Tryouts (late-February), and will be drafted to a team by Team Managers (early-March). Parents that have questions about their player playing down in Junior Baseball should contact the MALL board to discuss before registering.

Senior Baseball players use bats and baseballs designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for a Senior team averages 10-12 players depending on parent involvement in coaching, with a season featuring 1-2 practices per week and 1-2 games per week played on weeknights and/or Saturdays. The diamond used is a 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this teenage level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, board members and other volunteer positions within the league.
